Immigrants are not Outlaws!

The various countries in the world are divided by the boundaries that we humans have created. Without these boundaries the whole world is one. But sadly the world is now divided into 195 countries. The belief that this division of space has led to the increase in the freedom of people is delusional. As per the laws of different nations, every newborn child is given the citizenship of the country where he is born in. This norm is fundamentally wrong because any person should have the right to choose the country they want to be a citizen of. Even for an adult changing nationality is a difficult task. Several complicated procedures have to be followed to get the citizenship of any country. Some countries don’t give permanent citizenship to immigrants at all. These circumstances only make it difficult for the immigrants and add more misery to the already huge immigrant struggles.

Immigrants have to face a lot of problems in any new country. Every country has a specific language and immigrants often have to deal with the language and cultural barriers. Socializing with the new people in a new country can be a real challenge. Immigrants also struggle to find employment in the new country. Another problem is of secure housing, which can be very difficult to locate as most people avoid renting or selling apartments to immigrants. Despite all the efforts made by world leaders’ racism is still a very common problem and immigrants have to face all those problems.

In foreign countries people often avoid immigrants and look at them with suspicion. However, they must understand that immigrants are not criminals or outlaws, who have been thrown out of their native country. They are common people just like everyone else. Most people assume that they have migrated to a new country to escape their past or something similar. Usually a lot of negativity and misconceptions surround the immigrants and they are not accepted by most people in their new country and have to face a lot of discrimination.

Even after the years of settling down in a new country the problems faced by the immigrants does not end. Often their children have to face discrimination in schools, which can be traumatic. Most people need to change their perception about immigrants. Immigrants are just like common people who take independent decision so that they can live their lives to the fullest. Empowering Immigrants is a website that helps people in understanding immigrants so that no immigrant has to suffer racism and discrimination.
